Building a network marketing business sounds easy enough when you first hear the presentation. You begin using the merchandise and in turn you share the product and your experiences with others, who also begin sharing the product or service with others until many people are sipping fruity drinks on a white sandy beach. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Anyone that has been involved in network marketing for any amount of time knows that although the theory is that this works well, the reality of building a network marketing business is a much more complex undertaking.

One of the first mistakes a large number of new marketers make would be the failure to develop an enterprise plan. Home business owners who operate with no plan typically find on their own wandering around aimlessly. They jump from marketing strategy to marketing strategy looking for the "secret" that is going to start putting money into their pockets. It is not long until the jumping is no longer marketing strategies, but transforms into opportunity jumping. The assumption is that the opportunity is flawed, even though others are making great incomes through those same companies. So what is the breakdown? At the end of the day building a network marketing business requires a workable plan, so that nothing will be left to chance.

Proper planning starts with your dream. Imagine that you were taking a road trip from Los Angeles to New York City, but you chose to not do any planning. You would already be running into trouble before you left Los Angeles. There would be confusion concerning which roads you would have to be driving on and possibly which direction you needed to start out on. This doesn't even begin to address the issues for instance where you would eat, sleep and purchase gas. How long would this specific trip take? Unfortunately, many people are building a network business in a comparable haphazard manner.

When I speak of leverage, I am speaking of using tools that carry your action and multiply the potency of that action. This could be anything as simple as talking to groups of people instead of just doing one on one meetings. Using the internet to speak to more people on a regular basis is another example of leverage as well. As you begin to move towards leverage in your organization, you will quickly realize the necessity of cash flow for scaling up the leverage of your organization. The most effective tools for allowing you to speak to greater amounts of people in a shorter period of time will cost money, so it is imperative you create sufficient cash flow to finance those leveraging tools. As you scale out your small business you will achieve your financial goals in a very much shorter time period.
